Top O' The Mornin' Ta Ya (but more like 8:30 at night here on GMT)

Just a moment ago there was a serious cause for dancing.

Today I moved into my FANTASTIC little flat in Oundle, England, and to celebrate the joyous occasion, I bought myself some wine and fancy English cheese. I didn't even think about the fact that I would need a corkscrew until I got home, and I though all might have been lost. But then, magic. It turns out I bought twist-top wine! Whoohoo! So now my celebratory meal is fish sticks (which were quite a struggle because not only did I have some serious trouble figuring out how to TURN ON the over, I also set off the smoke detector), St Agur bleu cheese, and a nice (TWIST-OFF) red wine. W00t. Hence the dancing.

Ok, well I'm still moving in and getting ready to meet some other young staff at the local pub (more on the pub culture later!), so I will leave you with a better understanding of the title I've chose for this blog.

It is a perfect symbol for the intersection of my tragic nerdiness and the (as Marcus would say) "posh" Britishness of my new life.

More next time, chaps!

  2. So I just sat down and read everything, I probably should have made comments as I went along because now I can't remember everything I wanted to say.

First off: 16 hour days, no personal time and not end in site: I'm there with you but doing it mostly in lovely Findlay, OH WHEWWWWW

Lets see: Do you not remember drinking tea a million times a day when we were younger (when we were at my family things). I grew up drinking tea at least three times day with some in the middle for whatever. Although I too have become addicted to coffee which I'm struggling to change currently.

I know there is no use telling you not to worry or to be nervous about anything because much like myself you'll do it anyway. I just want you to know that I think you're absolutely brilliant and I love you to death. I know that these kids couldn't have a better teacher, mentor, coach, etc.

I really would like to skype soon. I say this knowing that neither of us have time and this will be nearly impossible to arrange but how about we aim to do it before Halloween?

I want to come visit during the Holidays. More on this later.

Keep writing!! Reading this was the highlight of my evening and week. It was better than a novel :) I have to admit I couldnt get into the book myself and put it aside. I'll have to get back to it once I get placed and settled with the new job.

    Love,
    SAK :P

  3. SAK!

I love you and thank you for saying hello!

UM YES YOU HAVE TO COME VISIT DURING THE HOLIDAYS WE WILL TRAVEL AROUND EUROPE TOGETHER. Please let me know when you have free time, and we will make this happen.

I hope by now you are more settled, and I hope even more that you've found a way to make Findlay bearable. I am also living in a town that doesn't have much to offer, and if I ever want to do anything FUN it requires going somewhere else. This leaves me to ask - why do places like this exist? Do some people just like being bored by where they live? Ah the mysteries of the universe.

I LOVE YOU. Please be in touch about the holidays. <3
